What is Microblading?

Microblading, also known as eyebrow feathering, is a semi-permanent makeup technique where a special handheld tool and color pigment are used to create hair like strokes just beneath the surface of the skin. This technique involves the use of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes. Microblading can fill in sparse brows or create an entire brow that results in natural, realistic looking eyebrows!

What is Ombré/Powder Brows?

Ombré/Powder Brows, also known as shaded brows, is a semi-permanent makeup procedure. This technique achieves results by using a rotary tattoo pen (digital machine) to insert pigment into the top layers of the skin. This technique differs from Microblading in that we create misty, powder filled eyebrows, resembling the look of brow powder or a fresh eyebrow tint. Powder brows are also referred to as Ombré brows because they are shaded in from light to dark, giving an ombré effect that looks soft and natural. Unlike Microblading, this technique works on all skin types, including oily skin, and tends to last longer than Microblading. If you fill in your eyebrows with powder makeup everyday and love the way that looks, then this is the technique for you!

Does it hurt?

Pain tolerance varies from person to person. We use topical numbing during the procedure to make you feel as comfortable and pain free as possible.

Note: You may experience more sensitivity if the procedure is performed during or near your menstrual cycle.

How long is your appointment?

The first session is 2-3 hours, which involves a consultation, numbing, and pre-drawing the eyebrow shape. Your initial touch-up should be half the time.

How long does it last?

6 months–2 years depending on skin type, life style, and maintenance. Most people will want a yearly touch-up to color boost and redefine the shape. Your annual touch-up will be half of the going rate if the pigment is still visible. If more than 75% of your pigment has disappeared, it will be full price since we would need additional time.

Can I have Microblading or Ombré/Powder Brows done if I have permanent make up done already?

It depends on the color and density. If you would like to inquire about your eligibility, please email info@BrowZingLA.com  and attach a clear picture of your eyebrows without make-up on them.

How long is the healing process?

It is normal to experience minimal swelling and tenderness immediately following the procedure. This usually decreases after a few hours, but can last a few days. The first week following your treatment, the pigment will appear much darker than how it will appear once it has healed. Healing duration varies with each person, but it usually takes between 5 to 10 days. Other than the slight sensitivity to the treated area, healing is normally painless with no down time.

NOTE:  Avoid special occasions during healing time since brows will be bolder, darker and can scab.  Book accordingly.

Post-Procedure Instructions

After care is very important to ensure you have long lasting results. Please follow these aftercare instructions carefully:

  • You must avoid water, sweat, make-up, lotions, and sunscreens on and around the brow area for 10 days after the procedure

  • Keep the area clean and sterile. You will apply a thin layer of Aquaphor ointment 2 to 3 times a day until outer healing is complete

  • Absolutely no treatments on or near the brow area such as botox, fillers, chemical peels, facials and/or microdermabrasion for at least 1 month

  • Avoid pools, saunas, steam rooms, prolonged hot showers, and/or prolonged hot baths for 2 weeks

  • Avoid driving in open air vehicles, such as: convertibles, bicycles, motorcycles, or boats, while the eyebrows are healing
